I’m so insecure and being defined by the “work” I’m going to produce. It should come from the genuine belief in the idea, not the self sense of insecurity itself. And then when I look around I see peers who do things like VYE, Star-EX, I feel envious because those are things that I wnat to do, and you guys are no where better than me. Remind me of Andrew from Anideo visiting Facebook and observing his reactions, since he went to college with zuck.
Success often involves some element of luck, is not just about how smart you are. Being smarter will however increase your probability of being lucky.

Envy is a negative emotion. Unhelpful. Focus on what you can control and not on stuff that you really cannot control or is really none of your business.

Having a personal trainer/teacher is much more better than learning stuff yourself. Time is what you don’t have.

You’re not going to have a personal trainer/teacher forever even if you find one. There’s so much stuff out there that you won’t be able to finish learning in a life time. Learn to learn stuff yourself efficiently. The secret to learning is in making CONNECTIONS efficiently. :-)

Bravo for another great post! You’re right. We often worry too much about things that others may never notice or care about. I really like your desire to have “the internal confidence of the ugly guy”. This is something I’ve always striven for as well.
